In December, the project Gagauzia Dialogue organized two policy workshops on Education and Tourism in cooperation with the Executive Committee of Gagauzia. Seminars dedicated to the fields of tourism and education are part of the initial stage of the public policymaking process. The workshops are aimed at collecting information on specific issues, needs, common societal interests from relevant stakeholders in Gagauzia, and stakeholders within the wider national context. These participatory workshops provided a key background for the development of policy documents in Education and Tourism by the Policy Development Task Force.
Almost 75 key stakeholders attended the workshops in Avdarma, Gagauzia, including Task Force experts, representatives of the Executive Committee and People’s Assembly of Gagauzia, State ministries, and representatives from local municipalities, academia, CSOs, and other professional organizations. The participants learned about the preliminary findings of policy assessments in Education and Tourism completed by the Task Force experts in order to identify key issues, examined Gagauzia’s education and tourism in the context of the South Tyrol autonomy in Italy, and brainstormed potential proposals and ideas for the future Education and Tourism policies in Gagauzia.
