Today, June 14, 2023, CMI – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Moldova State University (MSU) and the Institute of Public Administration. The Memorandum was signed by the representatives of the institutions: Steve Young – CMI Country Manager, Igor Sarov – Rector of the State University and Sergiu Palihovici – Director of the MSU Institute of Public Administration.
The main objectives of the Memorandum are to develop a professional development course for civil servants and to support MSU in raising awareness on autonomies issues among a wider audience. As such, participants in the course will build sustainable capacity in Moldova on relevant aspects of good governance, including comparative practices in the field of autonomy, through knowledge transfer and based on materials developed in the framework of the “Gagauzia Dialogue” project implemented by CMI in close cooperation with Eurac Research.
“Gagauzia Dialogue” is a project bringing together legislators, experts and interested parties from Chisinau, Comrat and across Moldova to find joint solutions to common issues related to the Gagauzia autonomy. The project is implemented by CMI and funded by Sweden.
