On November 20, 2015, the Working Group was established to ensure the functionality of ATU Gagauzia and the legislative provisions of the Republic of Moldova in relation to ATU Gagauzia, composed of Members of Parliament and of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia. The purpose of the Group’s activity is to improve the functioning of the Gagauz autonomy within the constitutional framework of the Republic of Moldova, based on the Law on the special status of Gagauzia in 1994.
During 2016, the Working Group on Gagauzia (PWG) convened in several working meetings. PWG members discussed and approved draft laws on the status of the Emergency Medical Assistance Office, the financing of the regional public broadcaster “Teleradio-Gagauzia” Company, the ecological and road field, etc. Following the meetings, 24 decisions were taken, as well reports, draft laws and annexes were published.
During the meetings 24 decisions were approved on the following topics:
- DECISION No. 1 and Annex, February 23, regarding the Regulation for the functioning of the Working Group for ensuring, within the constitutional norms, the functionality of ATU Gagauzia and the legislative provisions of the Republic of Moldova in relation to the special status of ATU Gagauzia.
- DECISION No. 2, February 23, regarding the approval of the duration of the working sessions of the Working Group for ensuring, within the constitutional norms, the functionality of ATU Gagauzia and the legislative provisions of the Republic of Moldova in relation to the special status of ATU Gagauzia.
- DECISION No. 3, February 23, regarding the approval of the header sheet of the working group for ensuring, within the constitutional norms, the functionality of ATU Gagauzia and the legislative provisions of the Republic of Moldova in relation to the special status of ATU Gagauzia.
