On 6 November 2023, a working meeting of the Secretariat of the Parliamentary Working Group for Gagauzia, consisting of representatives of the Secretariat of the Parliament and the staff of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia (PAG), was held to discuss procedures and methodologies to strengthen the capacity of the PAG staff, as well as necessary steps to institutionalise the convening of the Parliamentary Working Group for Gagauzia.
During the meeting, CMI experts – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation presented draft documents on the elaboration of opinions to the avises of national normative acts and the methodology of ex-post evaluation of the implementation of local normative acts. During the meeting, the participants also conceptually discussed the possibilities of improving the organisation and functioning of the management apparatus of the National Assembly, as well as the stages and main aspects of updating the organisational structure of the PAG apparatus. They also agreed on further steps to improve the current processes and to find solutions for the set priorities.
