This analytical study was prepared as the reform of local public administration in the Republic of Moldova transitions from the stage of conceptual debates to the phase of practical preparation of the regulatory framework and its implementation. The document aims to provide an objective assessment of the impact of the anticipated changes on the ATU Gagauzia, as well as scenarios and recommendations aimed at the institutional strengthening of the autonomy’s public authorities under the new conditions.
The study is addressed to local public administration authorities in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, representatives of first-level local public administration authorities, central public authorities of the Republic of Moldova, the expert community, as well as international development partners and other stakeholders.
